New master’s for biology teachers offered

WUSTL will offer a master of science in biology degree specifically for in-service teachers through University College in Arts & Sciences. Biology department faculty created and piloted the degree with 90 biology teachers nationwide as a National Science Foundation teacher institute. FULL STORY

Hispanic literature conference begins Thursday, Oct. 28

The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures in Arts & Sciences will host the Mid-America Conference on Hispanic Literature Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 28-30. “The Past in the Present: Revolutions, Reactions, Transgressions” is co-hosted by the Office of the Faculty of Arts & Sciences and will take place at the Crowne Plaza St. Louis-Clayton Hotel and in Eads and Wilson halls on the Danforth Campus.   • Women’s soccer wins 8th straight. Junior Emma Brown’s goal in the first overtime led the women’s soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Concordia College-Moorhead Oct. 25 at Francis Field. WUSTL improved its overall record to 9-5-2 and has not lost since Sept. 25, a 2-0 loss to No. 20 Wheaton College.
